Thomas Elson-Knight (2002-11)
BBC Masterchef Finalist

The Mount Kelly community of pupils, parents, staff and OMKs have thoroughly enjoyed watching former pupil Thomas Elson-Knight compete in the BBC Masterchef UK series. A stone-sawyer by trade, Thomas' culinary skills impressed the judges throughout, securing him a place in the Finals week, and ranked amongst the Top Five chefs in the series. He was eventually eliminated, but having made it so far is a significant achievement, and we congratulate him on his success.

Emma Davidson (2007-13)
Channel 4 Hunted Contestant

Emma Davidson is another OMK to make it onto national television this year, when she competed in this year's series of Hunted, on Channel 4. Hunted is a reality television programme where contestants, known as "fugitives", attempt to evade capture by a group of former police and intelligence officers, called the "hunters" for 25 days. Emma, a neo-natal nurse, and her partner Jess, were put through their paces and managed to evade the hunters but were eventually captured after 10 days 'on the run'.

London Drinks
Wednesday 19 June

A great opportunity for London-based OMKs to meet up with old friends and our new Head Master, Guy Ayling, who takes up the post in April. We remain grateful to OMK David Lonsdale (1975-81) for once again hosting our London gathering in his beautiful, award-winning pub: The Sekforde Arms, 34 Sekforde St, Clerkenwell, EC1R 0HA. Whilst it is an informal event, we do request that you let us know you are coming to help us plan accordingly.

Farewell to the Semmences

Pupils, Staff and Governors at Mount Kelly bid farewell to Head Master, Mark Semmence, his wife Alison, and daughters India and Flora. Mr Semmence has enjoyed a busy and highly successful five years at Mount Kelly with a long list of achievements to his name, including: the merger and restructure of the two schools; boarding house refurbishments; the refurbishment of the all-weather pitch and development of the new pitch; the cricket pavilion and nets; the library refurbishments; the building of the Olympic Legacy 50m pool and the Old Mount Kelleian Bridge; the international expansion programme and the Tavistock College Partnership. We wish Mark and the family all the very best at Repton School in Derbyshire.

2019 Spring Events

It has been a busy season in the OMK calendar. February began with a Men's Hockey match which this year was played indoors on account of heavy frost on the pitches - a new experience for many! This was followed a week later by an excellent Ladies' Netball match in which our OMK team narrowly lost by 22-27. Later that month, many Bristol-based OMKs and former staff enjoyed drinks in Clifton Village (pictured above), and in March, the Head Master hosted our third annual gathering in Dubai.

 Joyce Lee Dedication

On 20 March, the Prep was delighted to welcome back many former Mount House staff, pupils and parents, for the occasion of dedicating a beautiful tree bench in memory of Miss Joyce 'M'Lai' Lee, who taught at Mount House from 1947 until 1992. Charles Price, former Head Master (1984-2002), spoke
affectionately of Joyce and her kindness towards generations of pupils; Lady Fulton kindly cut the ribbon; and Niel O'Neill (1961-67) made a toast in her memory.
